St. George City Mayor Candidate info@votearos.com
🔒 Protecting Our Children and Preserving Our Values
The well-being of our community defines the strength of our city—and it begins with protecting our children.
As someone who has spent over a decade on the front lines of fighting human trafficking, I’ve seen how it begins: with exposure to pornography, sexualized content, drag performances marketed as “family-friendly,” and inappropriate material disguised as education. These aren’t harmless trends—they’re predator traps, and they create real-world consequences.
I’ve stood in the middle of the filth to protect children.
I’ve rescued victims.
And one of the worst traffickers I ever confronted was right here—in our own backyard.
As mayor, I will:
We must stop losing good officers to neighboring cities because they’re paid more to protect someone else’s community. Public safety will be a top priority—not just a talking point.
Our current leadership has opened the door to policies that are making us look more and more like California. If we don’t wake up now, we will lose what makes St. George strong—and we’ll do it to the sound of rising crime and silent regret.
This city is worth protecting—and I’ve done it before.
I’m ready to do it again, as your mayor.
— Aros Mackey
I will work to:
💼 Smart Growth. Stronger Economy.
As mayor, I will advocate for policies that drive real economic growth, attract responsible businesses, and create quality job opportunities for St. George families.
A thriving economy doesn’t happen by accident—it happens through vision, strategic partnerships, and leadership that understands both community needs and business potential.
By nurturing a diverse and resilient economy, we can strengthen our local workforce, support small business owners, and keep our tax base healthy without raising burdens on working families.
Economic vitality means a stronger St. George—for everyone.

I🗣️ Restoring the People’s Voice
I believe in the strength of an engaged and empowered community. As mayor, I will work diligently to create meaningful opportunities for residents to participate in the decisions that shape their lives—especially at City Council meetings, where too many voices have been ignored for too long.
I’m committed to transparent, accountable governance. That means open access to the process, clear communication, and leadership that listens.
I will:
Leadership isn’t just about making decisions. It’s about making sure you’re part of the conversation.
You deserve a mayor who listens first and leads with integrity—and that’s exactly what I’ll bring to the job.
— Aros Mackey
I will work to:
🏘️ Growth with Purpose. Preservation with Vision.
I am committed to responsible, sustainable development that protects the character of St. George while planning for its future.
As mayor, I’ll ensure growth is thoughtful—not rushed—and that it enhances the quality of life for both current and future generations. That means protecting our neighborhoods, preparing our infrastructure, and honoring the values that make this city home.
St. George can grow—without losing what makes it special.
— Aros Mackey
I will work to:
I’m Aros Mackey, and I’m running for Mayor of St. George because it’s time for leadership that defends our freedoms, preserves our heritage, and leadership that rises above politics to serve the community, not an agenda.
My life of service began with a two-year volunteer mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When I returned home in 1998, I carried a deep-rooted desire to continue serving.
Over the past two decades, that desire has guided my work in criminal justice, private security, and humanitarian rescue. I’ve been on the front lines helping families recover from crime, exploitation, and trauma.
I also had the privilege of serving as a criminal justice professor in Las Vegas before returning to the field full-time, because that’s where real action happens, and real lives are changed.
Academically, I earned a master’s degree in Intelligence, originally focused on counterterrorism, later redirected toward criminal justice and counter-human trafficking. I’m currently completing a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, specializing in Homeland Security policy coordination. I’ve studied how systems break—and I’ve spent years helping families survive those failures.
I’ve spent my career working inside cities and towns across the country. I’ve seen firsthand what happens when local leaders wait too long to act – problems grow. They become more expensive, more divisive, and more damaging. Here in St. George, we can’t afford to be reactive. We have to lead with vision, leadership that scans the horizon, identifies challenges early, and moves decisively before issues erupt. We have to anticipate challenges, not just respond to them. At the end of the day, waiting to act isn’t leadership; it’s damage control, and St. George deserves better.
Right now, St. George is at a crossroads.
St. George is shifting, and too many citizens feel unheard. We’ve seen free speech stifled, open dialogue discouraged. That’s not who we are. I believe in protecting the people’s voice, not managing or controlling their opinions.
I wasn’t born in southern Utah; I married into it. My wife comes from St. George’s founding families: the McArthurs and the Woodburys. My wife’s grandfather and her parents taught me what it truly means to be from Dixie, south of the Iron County line. To live with faith, patriotism, and generational grit. This is a way of life. It must be protected.
My wife and I were married in the St. George Temple in 1999, and in 2011, we came home to raise our children in that same legacy.
In 2012, I took the TEDx stage to sound the alarm on federal overreach and political manipulation, years before today’s headlines proved those warnings right. I wasn’t campaigning for anything back then; I refused to stay silent.
Today, I’m stepping forward as the only true conservative in this race, committed to restoring accountability, protecting your freedoms, and leading with principle and conviction. With a career and education rooted in criminal justice and public safety, I bring the hands-on experience needed to work directly with law enforcement and prevent problems before they escalate.
I will champion sensible, strategic growth, growth that respects our community’s unique character and preserves the values that make St. George special. That means planning carefully, not carelessly, ensuring that development is thoughtful, infrastructure is ready, and our neighborhoods remain strong and livable.
I will also insist on fiscally conservative principles in budgeting, planning, and infrastructure decisions. We must spend wisely, prioritize long-term value over short-term gain, and protect taxpayers from waste. Good stewardship isn’t just good policy; it’s a promise to the people, and your trust deserves nothing less.
Cities thrive when their leaders bring real-world experience to the table, not when they rely solely on second-hand advice.
I’m not here to play political games or settle partisan scores. My mission is clear: to return the City of St George to the people, with a bottom-up approach that listens first and acts with purpose.
Let’s reclaim the proper role of local government—starting right here, right now. Vote Aros Mackey for St George City Mayor.
